Governor Quinn signed Representative Riley’s bill (SB3056). Rep. Riley introduced the bill based on hours of testimony from House Mass Transit committee hearings held in Chicago and Springfield. Testimony was given from the transit service boards, RTA and others. SB3056 had bipartisan support.
Rep. Riley states, “Hopefully, this will be one of many bills pertaining to mass transit reform in northeastern Illinois. All of us should be responsible for demanding a public transportation system which is more transparent and fair in their operating practices. I appreciate the help of Representatives Elgie Sims (D-Chicago) and Mike Tryon (R-Crystal Lake).”
