On October 25, 2014 we opened up the long awaited Interstate 294/57 Interchange. This project of regional significance will connect our region and help the move the flow of commerce to the Chicago Southland and beyond. Kudos again to the south suburban legislators, especially Representative Bob Rita.
Representative Rita chaired the Tollway Oversight committee a few years ago. I turned down a second committee chair to serve with Bob as we worked on getting the interchange built and financed. Legislative action and the collaboration with IDOT and the Toll Authority got this long overdue project done. Not just what we need, not just what we wanted, this project is what we deserve.
