Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
I like this holiday; the cold weather and snow mark the ending of another year. The holiday season is upon us and friends are finding time to get together, as they should more often.
It also reminds me of the work that we are, or we should be doing to help others less fortunate. Charitable works and giving should not be caught up in ideology. People in need, need our help. It is the mark of a society that values everyone. A philosophy of Social Darwinism is counter to everything this country was founded upon.
So, to those who create social services programs, work with organizations such as PADS and others, support food pantries or have made donations, thank you. Thanksgiving is every day of the year to you. Actually, it really is.
